GREAT CANBERRA DESIGN TEAM.
From Japanese fan symbolism to providing shelter our ‘World Peace Bell’ is far from a traditional gazebo.
STRONG SYMBOLISM
Designed by Lauren Kasparek, the fan has strong symbolism in Japan where the ‘World Peace Bell’ originates. Ribs of the fan represent different roads of life.
The base of the fan represents the beginning of life.
ROOF PLAN
The symbolism can be seen in the roof design which fans out from an apex (Beginning of Life) to the view out.
ARCHITECTS IMPRESSION
Architects impression of how the pavilion will look in its settings.
LANDSCAPE TEAM
The original landscape team can hopefully complete the beautiful project.
The end of the pathway will feature a low wall to contain donation information.

MORPH TO DESIGN
The fan concept was then morphed into the structure to house the Canberra World Peace Bell.
SITE PLAN
The approved site is in Nara Park on Lake Burley Griffin with wonderful views to the National Museum.
MORPH TO DESIGN
The pavilion will sit close to the lake edge on the Western side of Nara Peace Park, facing the National Museum.
NATURAL BEAUTY
The landscape design will continue the natural rock pathways and water features.
