Invitation to schools visiting Canberra.

Book a school tour and give your students an opportunity to ring the Canberra Rotary Peace Bell.
The Canberra Lennox Gardens is a special location and is ideal for a lunch stopover with open spaces and room for bus parking. The Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin tour provides a brief outline of the history of Lennox Gardens, tours the Beijing Gardens, the Canberra Nara Peace Park, and the Canberra Rotary Peace Bell including a brief ceremony. This visit is suitable for year 5 and 6 students, but older students are welcome. The Rotary Club has personal liability insurance for the tour, which takes approximately 90 minutes. A $2.00 gold coin donation for Rotary Peace Projects is welcome.
The Canberra Rotary Peace Bell is a replica of the original World Peace Bell gifted to the United Nations in New York by Chiyoji Nakagawa in 1954 and is one of 24 World Peace Bells located around the world.
Once your school has taken part in a tour of the Lennox Gardens and visited the Canberra Rotary Peace Bell we will arrange for a Peace Pole to be donated to your school to sit within school grounds. We are looking to place 100 Peace Pole in 100 Schools to recognise 100 years of Rotary Service in Australia due in 2021. We also encourage a brief ceremony to be held at the Peace Pole to recognise World Peace Day on the third Tuesday of September each year.
