Biogas for Nakuru Kenya Project

This is the story of Rotary action in Kenya.

Biogas units in Kenya are used to produce biogas from organic waste, which can be used for cooking and other purposes. Biogas units can help reduce the use of firewood, charcoal, and kerosene, which can be expensive and harmful to the environment. 

Biogas units use organic waste, such as cow dung, agricultural waste, and water, to produce biogas. The biogas is fed into a gas cooker or used for other purposes. The process of producing biogas also creates a nutrient-rich fertilizer that can be used to grow organic vegetables.

The Rotary Club of Australian Nomads have now supported a number of Biogas units. Biogas units 19 and 20 have now been commissioned and

handed over to the beneficiaries. Unit 19 went to a family of the

Umoja Self Help Group (SHG) and unit 20 to a family of the Hope

SHG. Unit 20 was constructed using the funds raised at the Rotary changeover dinner last June, Unit 19 was funded by the Bedourie Amateur Race Club Inc.

The Rotary E-Club of Australia Nomads also donated a Peace Pole to the Bebourie School in Outback Queensland last year with the support of the Bedourie Amateur Race Club Inc.
