the Peace Pole.
Pole 104 of 100 Peace Poles to be planted in Schools around Australia was planted on 27 November 2020.
Amaroo School in Ngunnawal ACT held their unveiling ceremony of their Rotary Peace Pole on 27 November 2020 and members of Rotaract Club of the University of Canberra (RCUC) who donated the Peace Pole were there to read out the peace message from the United Nations. Both RCUC and Amaroo School are delighted to be part of the project to celebrate the Centenary of Rotary in Australia. On the day, the school captains of the school were the MC for the ceremony and on each side of the pole are the messages “May Peace Prevail on Earth”. The messages are written in English, Japanese and French (the languages taught at Amaroo School) and on the fourth side “Dreaming String on Ngunnawal Land” in the Ngunnawal language. Each side was read by students who were learning these languages. Everyone enjoyed the meaning of the pole and the message of delivering peace is a wonderful message to be taught to the students.
